Ways to Help

There are many ways to make a donation to the Children's Cottage Society. However you choose to show your support, the children and families who benefit from our programs will be most grateful.

Charitable Registration Number: 10691 4534 RR0001

Cash – The Children's Cottage Society benefits immediately from cash donations. You can choose to donate a one-time gift, a pledge over several months or monthly credit card donations.

Monthly Donor - Becoming a monthly donor ensures the future of the Children's Cottage and the thousands of children and families we help each year. Donations are deducted monthly and donors will receive a consolidated tax receipt at the end of the giving year. You can donate online by indicating in the comment box that you wish to become a Monthly Donor or email fundraising@childrenscottage.ab.ca to make arrangements.

In-Honour or In-Memoriam gift  Honour a special person with a tribute gift in their name! Donations can be made in recognition of a loved one and a special thank you letter will be sent to the person of your choosing, recognizing your generosity. These gifts can be made online. Please enter the honorees name and address in the comments field so the Cottage can send an acknowledgement.

Stocks and Securities – For donations of publicly traded securities, please contact our fundraising department at 403 283-4200 ext 221 or email fundraising@childrenscottage.ab.ca to make arrangements. Visit the Canada Revenue Agency for more information on exchangeable securities, Gifts and Income Tax or to download Pamphlet P113.

Gifts in Kind – Donations of children’s clothing and items for the Cottage are gratefully accepted. Please see our Wish Lists for our most-needed items.

Planned Giving - Leave a lasting legacy! Through a bequest in your will, you can significantly contribute to the community with a gift of assets (property, stocks or bonds), gift annuities, trusts or life insurance policies. What’s more, planned gifts may qualify for significant tax deductions.

Third-Party Fundraising – Have fun while raising funds! Get your clubs, community groups, co-workers and friends together and host an event that is uniquely you. Jump-start an annual run, plan a golf tournament or cook up a delicious dinner party for friends.

Company Matching Grants - Get your organization actively involved in corporate philanthropy! Many companies have a Matching Gift Program or a Volunteer Grant program, often doubling the individual tax-deductible gifts made by their employees. Contact your Human Resources department for more information and to advise them of your wish to have them match your donation to the Children's Cottage Society.

Donate-a-Car Donate A Car Canada accepts Vehicle Donations for Children's Cottage Society of Calgary. We provide free towing in many areas across Canada, or you can drop off your vehicle to maximize your donation. When you Donate your RV, boat, motorcycle or other vehicle to the Children's Cottage Society through Donate A Car Canada, it will either be recycled or sold at auction depending on its condition, age and location. Simply fill out the donation form and Donate A Car Canada will look after all of the details. After your Vehicle Donation is complete the Children's Cottage Society will receive notification and payment, at which time they will send you a tax receipt, along with a letter expressing their thanks, within 45 days!
