Learn more about Giving Tuesday

Published Tuesday, November 24, 2015

Most people know about Black Friday and Cyber Monday…now GivingTuesday! On December 1st, following the spending frenzy of Black Friday and Cyber Monday, Giving Tuesday kicks off the annual season of giving by harnessing the power of social media to inspire generosity in all its forms. It is a day when Canadians are encouraged to join the movement and to give both financially, and of themselves, to support the charities of their choice. GivingTuesday is a day that shows how powerful we can be when we unite to give.

More and more families have suddenly found themselves in situations of financial, emotional and domestic crisis. The holidays are particularly difficult for families at times like this. The Children's Cottage Society has launched our annual Winter Appeal with a goal of raising $300,000 by the end of December. We hope that you will join in this national initiative, Giving Tuesday and "Give" to Children's Cottage this Holiday season to help us meet our goal so that we may be there for the children and families when they need us most. (Click here to donate now)

We also invite you to "Give" of yourself by becoming a Children's Cottage Society Social Media Ambassador and help us raise our voices through social media to encourage others to support Children's Cottage. In doing so, you will enable CCS to build a strong, engaged network of “Givers”, today, throughout the "giving season" and into the future!

How Do I Become a CCS Social Media Ambassador

It couldn't be easier. Join the global conversation and help spread the word through social media. While we are a partner and support the Giving Tuesday initiative, we encourage you to specifically refer to “support Children's Cottage” when you post, and drive your audience to where they can learn more and make an online donation, at any time, plan a third party event or register to volunteer.
