Since 1986, the Children’s Cottage Society has been dedicated to achieving our vision of Safe Children in Healthy Families. Over the past 30 years more than 60,000 children have been helped by our programs.
With the help of thousands of volunteers, donors and partners, the Children’s Cottage has become a trusted source of support with over 140 staff in three locations, offering programs and services to clients across Calgary and surrounding areas.
- In 1986, the Cottage opened its doors supported by the Senator Patrick Burns Fund
- In 1994, the Calgary Home Builder’s Foundation built and donated our Bridgeland home for the Crisis Nursery
- The Crisis Nursery is often full and more spaces are needed to help the thousand children turned away each year
- Our primary funders are: Calgary Region Child and Family Services, The Calgary Homeless Foundation, The City of Calgary Family and Community Support Services, United Way of Calgary and Area and The Brenda Strafford Foundation Ltd. who allows us the use of their facility to run Brenda’s House
