The Children’s Cottage Society, established in Calgary in 1986, provides crisis nursery, community respite, and family support programs to more than 3,500 children a year. The Society’s mission is to “Build strong children and safe, nurturing families through prevention programs and support services” and our vision is “Resilient children blossom in healthy families.”
Approximate start date for this role will be June 2, 2025.
Hours: 35-hour work week, Monday through Friday, with some availability on weekends.
Salary: $20.00 per hour
*This is a Temporary Role for an 8 Week Period as part of the
Canada Summer Jobs Program*
Qualifications:
- Access to a vehicle and must have a valid driver’s license
- Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds of weight
- Confidence with being in large public settings
- Comfortable with public speaking
- Available to work some evening and weekends
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
- Proficient with Window suite products
- Experience with CRM data base (Raiser’s Edge, Salesforce, DonorPerfect, etc…) would be a valuable asset.
Responsibilities:
- Assist the Fund Development team with task and activities related to summer internal events such as Clays for Cottage
- Provide support in the preparations and execution of summer community fundraiser events
- Represent the Children’s Cottage Society in the community at various events
- Support ongoing stewardship activities to ensure donors feel appreciated
- Assist Fund Development with office administrative tasks
- Provide office support to the Fund Development team when required
- Coordinate and assist volunteers for summer community events
- Respond to, or appropriately redirect, donor phone calls or emails
- Assist in collecting research, data, and preparation for applicable grant applications
- Other related duties as may be assigned
Pre-employment Requirements:
- A Police Information Check, which includes a vulnerable sector search, is required prior to employment.
- A Child Intervention Record Check is required upon commencement of employment.
