CanLearn FRIENDS (Grades 4-6)
We’re excited to announce that registration is now open for our CanLearn FRIENDS (Grades 4-6) Winter group! This program is a great way for kids to build social skills, boost confidence, and have fun while making new friends.
What They’ll Learn:
Participants will explore essential skills like:
- Building and keeping healthy friendships
- Having conversations and communicating assertively
- Understanding emotions and handling them in healthy ways
- Coping with stress, anxiety, and unhelpful thoughts
- Handling conflict, bullying, and tricky social situations

Building confidence and self-esteem
Our sessions are interactive and engaging — think games, role-playing, problem-solving, and lots of hands-on activities. Plus, we encourage kids and teens to try out their new skills between sessions.
Who Is This For?
This program is designed for children who are eager to build their confidence and strengthen their social skills in a fun, supportive, and structured environment. It’s a great fit for participants who are:
- Motivated and open to learning new ways to connect with others.
- Willing to actively participate in activities and discussions.
While we strive to create an inclusive and supportive space, the program may not be the best fit for children who:

Are currently experiencing significant behavioral challenges such as persistent aggression or severe conduct difficulties.
- Have difficulty engaging in verbal activities or following structured routines.
- May need more intensive support than this program can provide.
Dates:
FRIENDS GROUP (Grades 4-6)
Held on Fridays for 10 x weeks
Dates: January 16th to February 20th
Times: 2:00-3:30pm

To reserve a spot in the group please provide the following information:

*Please note – a brief intake call (less than 15 minutes) is required to collect additional information and to make sure the program is a good fit for your child. The CanLearn Society will be in touch with you shortly.
Cost: FREE for residents of the City of Calgary!
There are a limited number of spots for each program and spots will be offered on a first, come first serve basis. We can’t wait to hear from you!
