Proving that even the tiniest Calgarians can make a big difference in their community, Wee Wild Ones delivered another $50,000 donation to the Children’s Cottage Society in 2021.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Children’s Cottage Society had to send home its many volunteers who help out at the Crisis Nursery and Brenda’s House. Which means there were fewer hands making meals in the kitchen, sorting donations, assisting with programs or entertaining the little ones at the nursery.

Now, with Alberta’s Stage 3 reopening, we are slowly welcoming back our volunteers to the Crisis Nursery and Brenda’s House

Over the past decade, the Children's Cottage Society crisis nursery has had to turn away more families than it was able to help because of a lack of space and resources. Amidst a pandemic, kids from a Calgary daycare and school opened their hearts and stepped up their fundraising goal to donate an incredible amount of money to Children's Cottage Society. Amazingly, they raised five times more than they had in the last three years combined. See the full story here.

Several Calgary emergency shelters are moving quickly to get families into homes amid the COVID-19 outbreak. Brenda’s House has also relocated many of their clients. Crisis Nursery Updates The Crisis Nursery has reduced the number of children from 14 down to 6 as per Alberta Health regulations so we can ensure all our children remain healthy.
